The final chapter of 2026.
Books, bubbles and a very Brunch Book Club Christmas.
One more chapter before we close the book on 2026.
After a year of brilliant books, beautiful conversations, new faces, familiar favourites and plenty of reasons to raise a glass, we’re getting the Brunch Book Club community together for one final celebration.
On Saturday 5 December, we’re taking over the mezzanine floor at The Exhibit in Balham for the Brunch Book Club Christmas Party.
Expect drinks. Canapés. Music. Dancing. Books. A few surprises. And a room full of brilliant people ready to celebrate another year of Brunch Book Club.
No assigned reading. No discussion guide. No worrying that you didn't finish the book in time.
Just books, bubbles and a very Brunch Book Club Christmas.
And whether you’ve been sitting with us for years, joined us for the first time in 2026, or have been following along wondering when you’ll finally come to something...
You can sit with us.
Your Invitation
Your ticket includes:
Entry to the Brunch Book Club Christmas Party
A drink on arrival
Canapés
Music and dancing
Our festive Proof Party Table
A room full of lovely bookish people to meet
And because it wouldn’t be a Brunch Book Club party without books, the Proof Party Table will be back for another year, filled with advance reading copies and bookish treats looking for new homes.
Consider this your reminder to bring a tote bag.
Coming On Your Own?
Please do.
We know walking into a party alone can feel very different from confidently deciding you’re going to do it when you book the ticket.
But Brunch Book Club was built around making it easier to meet people without the awkwardness of traditional networking, forced icebreakers or needing to already know somebody in the room.
We’ll do everything we can to create that same warm, welcoming atmosphere at the Christmas Party.
You just have to get yourself through the door.
We’ll take it from there.

Your Questions, Answered
-
Absolutely. Lots of people come to Brunch Book Club events alone — and plenty of friendships in this community started with somebody walking through the door not knowing anyone.
If you arrive solo, we’ll do our best to make those first few minutes as easy as possible.
-
Not at all.
Whether this is your first Brunch Book Club event or you've been with us since the beginning, you're invited.
There’s no membership required and you definitely don’t need to pass a test on our back catalogue.
-
Nope.
There’s no book to read and no formal discussion. This is our chance to put the books down for one night and celebrate the people who make Brunch Book Club what it is.
Although, knowing us, somebody will inevitably ask what you're reading.
-
Absolutely.
Once the drinks are flowing and the canapés have been demolished, expect the evening to turn into a proper Christmas party.
There’ll be music, dancing and plenty of opportunity to show us what your literary alter ego looks like after a couple of festive drinks.
Dancing is enthusiastically encouraged, but never compulsory.
-
A Brunch Book Club Christmas Party favourite.
We’ll have a table of proofs, advance reading copies and other bookish goodies looking for new homes throughout the evening.
They’re available while stocks last, so bring a tote bag just in case something catches your eye.
-
Whatever makes you feel good.
Think Christmas drinks rather than black tie: festive dresses, tailoring, velvet, sequins, a great pair of jeans, your favourite going-out outfit — all welcome.
-
The Exhibit is in Balham, South West London, just a short walk from Balham station, with both Underground and National Rail connections.
Our Annual Secret Santa
Fancy adding another book to the pile under the tree? Our optional Brunch Book Club Secret Santa is back for Christmas.
If you’d like to take part, opt in when you book your ticket and we’ll match you with a fellow Brunch Book Clubber ahead of the party. Your mission is simple: choose a book you think your Secret Santa will love, wrap it up and bring it along on the night. We’ll exchange our gifts at the party, so everyone taking part heads home with a new read chosen especially for them.
No pressure, no extravagant presents — just one book, one fellow reader and a little bit of bookish Christmas magic.
One More Chapter...
Before we close the book on 2026, there’s time for one more room full of people who love books, good conversation and a very good party.
One more reason to get dressed up.
One more glass raised together.
One more night with the community that makes Brunch Book Club what it is.
The final chapter of 2026.
Saturday 5 December. The Exhibit, Balham.
You can sit with us.
