Special Event: I Dreamed of You

  • Timmy Green 11 Sir Simon Milton Square London, England, SW1E 5DJ United Kingdom (map)

What if your dreams didn’t just feel real — what if they were real?

This March, Brunch Book Club is thrilled to host a very special event celebrating I Dreamed of You, the spellbinding debut novel by Pim Wangtechawat. This intimate brunch event brings our community together to discuss a story bursting with magic, longing, friendship and first love — before being joined by Pim herself for a live Q&A and brunch.

We’ll kick things off with an online discussion, followed by a live author Q&A where Pim will unpack the novel’s themes of fate, desire, identity and first love. Later that afternoon, we’ll meet at Timmy Green, Victoria for brunch, where conversation continues over great food, drinks and excellent company.

It’s a full Brunch Book Club experience: engaging discussion, direct access to the author and the chance to connect properly with fellow readers — no awkwardness, no pressure, just good conversation in a great setting.

See you at brunch! 🥂📚🥑

Why this event is special:

  • A full literary experience, spanning online discussion, author Q&A and in-person brunch

  • The author joins us online and in person

  • This brunch will be a smaller, more intimate affair than our usual monthly events, with space for just 15 guests.

I Dreamed of You by Pim Wangtechawat

Two students arrive in Edinburgh full of hopes and dreams…and secrets. Their relationship sends them down a path they never imagined.

What if your dreams really could come true?

Dao and Sunny both grow up in Bangkok, but that’s where the similarities between the two end. Dao’s family are well-off and worldly, full of ambition for their daughter. Sunny’s father, meanwhile, wants only for his son to take over the small hardware shop he runs and stop causing trouble. When both are offered the opportunity to come to Edinburgh, Dao to study photography, Sunny to work for his aunt, they jump at the chance.

But Dao has a secret. Whatever she dreams turns into reality around her. Gift, power or curse: she doesn’t know, but when she meets Sunny and recognises him from one of her dreams, she begins to wonder. Might her new friendship turn into something more? Or is her faith in her dreams sending her down a path she’d be better to leave unexplored…

Pim Wangtechawat’s sparkling novel bursts with the magic of friendship and first love, as two unforgettable characters find out what it means to dream.
