Get the stakes, down the garlic, welcome the dark nights because for November, we’re diving into Hungerstone by Kat Dunn — a sapphic Gothic reimagining of Carmilla, full of dark secrets, desire, and power. We’ll be brunching at Serata Hall, Old Street, famed for its bottomless brunches, coal-fired pizzas, craft cocktails, and Saturday DJs. Bring a book (or a few, there’s no limit to how many you can bring or take!) to contribute to the swap table, grab a drink at the bar, and settle in for a wholesome, bookish evening.

This October we’re reading Lost Souls Meet Under a Full Moon by Mizuki Tsujimura, a tender, ghostly tale of love, loss, and closure. Our brunch will be at Flesh & Buns, Covent Garden, inspired by the lively Japanese izakaya. With delishes plates and an intimate atmosphere, it’s the perfect match for this month’s hauntingly beautiful theme.

We’re back baby! After our summer break we’re starting strong with The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. The bestselling powerful story of resilience, sacrifice, and women’s untold strength during WWII. After our guided online discussion, we’ll head to Taquiza in Peckham, a gem hidden in the depths of a carpet shop serving bold tacos, sharing plates, and bottomless margaritas under the arches of Rye Lane. A fiery, flavourful brunch to welcome us back into the book-loving brunching life!

Spring is in full swing, and so is Brunch Book Club! This May, we’re diving into a bold and brilliant read: Fundamentallyby Nussaibah Yousin, which has just been longlisted for the 2025 Women’s Prize for Fiction. This razor-sharp, darkly funny, and deeply moving novel explores love, faith, and belonging through the unexpected friendship between an East London teenager who joined ISIS and the academic tasked with rehabilitating her. It’s a book that promises to spark some seriously thought-provoking conversations.

As always, we’ll kick things off with our Online Discussion from 10:30am - 12:30pm, where we’ll unpack the novel’s themes, characters, and its audacious take on contemporary issues. Then, in true Brunch Book Club fashion, we’ll head to Paradise Green in Bishopsgate (3:00 - 4:30pm) for a stunning Aussie-inspired brunch in one of the most artful and vibrant dining spaces in London. Expect top-tier coffee, Mediterranean-meets-Asian flavours, and an atmosphere that brings the Gold Coast straight to the City.
